Wisdom

Hávamál 54 (tr. W.H. Auden and P.B. Taylor):
It is best for man to be middle-wise,
Not over cunning and clever:
The learned man whose lore is deep
Is seldom happy at heart.
Ecclesiastes 1.18:
For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
